Queens Bus Network Redesign

This project is part of our larger effort to modernize New York City’s bus network and improve bus service borough by borough. We are taking a fresh look at the bus network, with the goal of meeting customers’ priorities: more reliable service, faster travel, better connections, and ease of use.

Your new bus network arrives soon

We're updating bus stop signs to prepare for service changes that will be phased in by route on June 29 and August 31, 2025. Current service continues until then, but some signs will reflect future service. Use the MTA app or BusTime to plan your trip.

About the project

The Queens Bus Network Redesign is a historic effort to bring new and improved transit service to New York’s largest borough. We’ve worked iteratively over the last five years to develop and refine proposals that meet riders’ needs, modernize service, and improve operations for our workforce.

The fourth and final vision for the bus network, the Proposed Final Plan Addendum, was approved by the MTA Board on January 29, 2025. The Addendum reflects the months of community input the MTA received on the Proposed Final Plan and includes an Equity Evaluation, available in Appendix D.

Changes will be phased in by route on June 29 and August 31, 2025.
