Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit employees today handed out special Valentine’s Day treats celebrating Jacques Torres Chocolate’s 25th anniversary, alongside the world-renowned French pastry chef and chocolatier, Jacques Torres. Jacques Torres Chocolate, a retailer in Grand Central Terminal for the past 11 years, partnered with the MTA to hand out heart-shaped chocolates to hundreds of riders this morning at 42 St-Bryant Park 7 B D F M station in Manhattan and Court Sq-23 St 7 E M G in Queens. Later today, New York City Transit employees will continue the celebrations and hand out the sweet treats at a Bronx and Brooklyn station.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick off Valentine’s Day and celebrate 25 years of Jacques Torres Chocolate, with a location in Grand Central Terminal, than to sprinkle in a little extra sweetness for our customers’ commute with free chocolate,” said MTA Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara. “We may be just as excited handing out these little heart-shaped treats as the riders receiving them!”

“Jacques Torres Chocolate is turning 25 years old, and we are doing a collaboration with who better than the MTA for New York – also celebrating the Day of Love, Valentine's Day,” said Jacques Torres, Pastry Chef and Founder of Jacques Torres Chocolate. “We always think that New York is such a hard city, but I think that New York is a city of love. We ask customers: tell us your love story on the subway, tell us where you met, how you met, how you travel, and really, the MTA is the base of all of that.”

Jacques Torres Chocolate has been a retailer in Grand Central Terminal since 2014 -- located in the Lexington Passage. In addition to a variety of hand-made, hand-packaged chocolate treats, Jacques Torres Chocolate offers hot chocolate, cookies, macarons and ice cream.
