Metro-North Railroad Announces New Timetables with Service Adjustments Beginning March 30
Multiple New Haven Line Trains Will Have Shorter Run Times
Additional Marble Hill and Yankee Stadium Stations Stops Added to Hudson Line
Multiple Harlem Line Trains Have Adjusted Run Times
Metro-North Railroad today announced new train schedules taking effect Sunday, March 30, that will improve run times on multiple New Haven Line trains, add stops at Yankee Stadium and Marble Hill, and adjust departure times to support major MTA Construction & Development, Connecticut DOT, and Maintenance of Way projects that require extensive track outages on all three lines. The projects include switch replacements, track and tie renewals, the continuation of the Park Avenue Viaduct renewal, and walk bridge replacement between South Norwalk and East Norwalk on the New Haven Line.
Hudson Line
- The 6:13 a.m. train from Poughkeepsie Station to Grand Central Terminal will depart five minutes earlier at 6:08 a.m. and will have a total run time of 94 minutes.
- The 6:11 a.m. train from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central Terminal will add a station stop at Marble Hill.
- The 8:11 a.m. train from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central Terminal will add a station stop at Yankees-E. 153rd Street.
The following weekend inbound trains from Poughkeepsie will have stops at Ossining and Tarrytown Stations removed: 8:58 a.m., 9:58 a.m., 10:58 a.m., 11:58 a.m., 5:52 p.m. and 6:52 p.m.
The following weekend outbound trains from Grand Central Terminal to Poughkeepsie will have stops at Ossining and Tarrytown Stations removed: 7:50 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 9:50 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 3:50 p.m., 4:16 p.m. (Saturdays only), 5:16 p.m., 6:16 p.m., 6:50 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.
Harlem Line
Two weeknight trains have been added to the Harlem Line with service to North White Plains; one departs Grand Central Terminal at 9:53 p.m., and another departs Grand Central Terminal at 10:55 p.m.
Some Harlem Line trains have adjusted departure times from Grand Central Terminal:
- The 9:52 p.m. train to Wassaic will depart Grand Central Terminal at 9:50 p.m., two minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 10:31 p.m. train to North White Plains will depart Grand Central Terminal at 10:25 p.m., six minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 11:04 p.m. to Southeast will depart Grand Central Terminal at 10:52 p.m., 12 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 11:44 p.m. train to North White Plains will depart Grand Central Terminal at 11:19 p.m., 25 minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 12:10 a.m. train to Dover Plains will depart Grand Central Terminal at 12:01 a.m., nine minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 12:28 a.m. train to North White Plains will depart Grand Central Terminal at 12:19 a.m., nine minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
- The 1:04 a.m. train to Southeast will depart Grand Central Terminal at 12:55 a.m., nine minutes earlier than previously scheduled.
New Haven Line
Improvements to Metro-North’s signaling infrastructure allowed the railroad to increase train speeds and optimize schedules along the New Haven line, resulting in improved run times for some trains.
- The 5:06 a.m. train from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal will have an improved run time of 88 minutes.
- The 5:32 a.m. train from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal will have an improved run time of 90 minutes and arrive at Grand Central Terminal at 7:02 a.m., 10 minutes earlier than previous scheduled.
- The 7:52 a.m. train from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal will have an improved run time and arrive at Grand Central Terminal three minutes earlier than previously scheduled at 9:30 a.m.
- The 4:16 p.m. train from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven will depart five minutes earlier at 4:11 p.m. and have an improved run time of 90 minutes.
- The 4:49 p.m. train from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven will have an improved run time of 90 minutes, and arrive at New Haven Station, nine minutes earlier that previously scheduled.
- The 6:26 p.m. train from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven will have an improved run time of 90 minutes, arriving at New Haven Station at 7:57 p.m., seven minutes earlier that previously scheduled.
Metro-North Railroad is also providing an advance look at summer holiday service schedules.
Memorial Day Weekend Service
Metro-North will operate two additional trains on the Hudson Line on Friday, May 23, one to Poughkeepsie that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:18 p.m. and one to Croton-Harmon that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:51 p.m.
Two additional Harlem Line Trains will operate on Friday, May 23, one that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:15 p.m. to Southeast and one departing Grand Central Terminal 1:49 p.m. to North White Plains.
Three additional trains will operate on the New Haven Line on Friday, May 23. One departs Grand Central Terminal at 2:28 p.m. to New Haven, another departs Grand Central Terminal at 2:56 p.m. to Stamford, and another departs Grand Central Terminal at 3:27 p.m. to New Haven.
Metro-North will operate a Sunday service schedule on Memorial Day, May 26.
4th of July Weekend Service
Metro-North will operate two additional trains on the Hudson Line on Friday, July 3, one to Poughkeepsie that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:18 p.m., and one to Croton-Harmon that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:51 p.m.
Two additional Harlem Line trains will operate, on Friday, July 3, one that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:15 p.m. to Southeast, and one departing Grand Central Terminal at 1:49 p.m. to North White Plains.
Three additional trains will operate on the New Haven Line on Friday, July 3, one departs Grand Central Terminal at 2:28 p.m. to New Haven, another departs Grand Central Terminal at 2:56 p.m. to Stamford, and another departs Grand Central Terminal at 3:27 p.m. to New Haven.
Metro-North will operate a Sunday service schedule on the 4th of July.
Labor Day Weekend Service
Metro-North will operate two trains on the Hudson Line on Friday, Aug. 29, the first departing Grand Central Terminal at 1:18 p.m. to Poughkeepsie, and another departing Grand Central Terminal at 1:51 p.m. to Croton-Harmon.
Two additional Harlem Line trains will operate, on Friday, Aug. 29, one that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:15 p.m. to Southeast, and one that departs Grand Central Terminal at 1:49 p.m. to North White Plains.
Three additional trains will operate on the New Haven Line from Grand Central Terminal. A train to New Haven departs at 2:28 p.m., a train at 2:56 p.m. departs to Stamford, and another train will depart Grand Central Terminal at 3:27 p.m. to New Haven.
Metro-North will operate Sunday service on Labor Day, Sept. 1.
