MTA Weekender: June 5-8, 2026

There are service changes on the subway this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.
Updated June 5, 2026 12:00 p.m.

Happy Friday, and welcome to the season of FOMO! Summer is in full swing, which means there are a bevy of events (some might say too many good things) happening this weekend. The Knicks aren't playing at home (yet!), but New York's hottest destination—the Knicks-ified subway entrance at 34th Street and 8th Avenue—will be lit for Game 2 of the finals tonight. There's also Governors Ball in Queens, the Yankees playing the Red Sox in the Bronx, and the New York Transit Museum's Parade of Trains in Brooklyn.

Wherever your weekend takes you, we hope you take public transit to get there—and your weekend service changes are below (and also viewable as a map):

  • Inwood-bound   trains are rerouted via the   from Brooklyn to Manhattan.
  • 168 St-bound   trains are rerouted via the   from Brooklyn to Manhattan, then via the   in Manhattan.
  • World Trade Center-bound   trains are running on the   via Roosevelt Island from Queens to Manhattan.
  •   trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs.
  •   trains aren't running in Manhattan or most of Brooklyn.

For more details, keep on scrolling. We've also got travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.

And don't forget to sign up for the MTA Weekender newsletter sent every Friday. You'll get these service changes directly in your inbox, with more than enough time to plan your weekend travel.
