MTA Weekender: April 25-28, 2025

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):

  •   trains aren't running in Brooklyn.
  •   trains aren't running between Hewes St and Broad St.
  •   trains aren't running between Myrtle Av and Delancey St-Essex St.
  •   trains aren't running between 34 St-Herald Sq and Kings Hwy.

Major subway service changes

  trains, Brooklyn

  trains aren't running in Brooklyn from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work.

  • For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, take    trains.
  • For service between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Av, take the  , which is running to/from New Lots Av all weekend, including overnight.
  •   trains are running between Woodlawn and Bowling Green.

   trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Hewes St and Broad St in either direction. 
    •  ​ trains are running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Hewes St, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
  •   trains aren't running between Myrtle Av and Delancey St-Essex St in either direction.
    •  ​ trains are running between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service between Myrtle Av and Hewes St, take the ​ .
  • For service between Hewes St and Delancey St-Essex St, take free B106 shuttle buses, which are running between these stations and stopping at Marcy Av.
    • When exiting the subway at Hewes St or Delancey St-Essex St, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, take     trains.
    • Note: Manhattan-bound    trains aren't stopping at Broadway Junction.
  • For service in Lower Manhattan, take     trains.

From 4:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, Jamaica Center-bound   trains are running nonstop from Myrtle Av to Broadway Junction because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Hewes St-bound train.

  trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

  trains aren't running between 34 St-Herald Sq and Kings Hwy in either direction from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance. 

  •   trains are running in two sections, every 10 minutes during the day and evening:
    • Between 96 St and 34 St-Herald Sq, skipping 49 St in the uptown direction overnight.
    • Between Kings Hwy and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  • For service between 34 St-Herald Square and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, take     trains.
    •   trains are stopping at DeKalb Av all weekend.
  • For service between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Kings Hwy, take free shuttle buses, which are running along two routes:
    • Local between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Kings Hwy, making all   stops between Church Av and Kings Hwy.
    • Nonstop between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Kings Hwy.
    • When exiting the subway at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or Kings Hwy, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • Shuttle buses aren't stopping at 7 Av, Prospect Park, or Parkside Av.
    • For service to/from 7 Av, use nearby Bergen St    or Grand Army Plaza   .
    • For service to/from Prospect Park, take the   Franklin Av Shuttle or B16 or B41 buses.
    • For service to/from Parkside Av, use nearby Prospect Park   or take shuttle buses to nearby Church Av. 

Other subway service changes

    trains, Manhattan

Downtown   and   local trains are running express from 125 St to 14 St-Union Sq from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown local train.
  • During the day and evening,   trains are running every 20 minutes and   trains are running every 8 minutes while     trains share the express track in Manhattan.

  trains, Queens

Manhattan-bound   trains are running express from Mets-Willets Point to 74 St-Broadway from 5:45 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Flushing-bound train.

   trains, Brooklyn

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • Manhattan-bound   trains aren't stopping at Broadway Junction because of station work.
    • For service to/from Broadway Junction, take a Queens-bound   or Euclid Av-bound   train. 
  • Manhattan-bound   and   local trains are running nonstop from Euclid Av to Rockaway Av because of structural work.
    • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Euclid Av-bound   or Queens-bound   local train. 

    trains, Manhattan

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  • Uptown   and   local trains are running express from Canal St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.
  • Uptown   trains are running express from Canal St to 34 St-Penn Station.

This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from Spring St and 23 St, take a downtown local train.
  • For service to/from 50 St, take the  .

  trains, Manhattan

Downtown   trains aren't stopping at 155 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from 155 St, take an uptown train.

    trains, Brooklyn

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound   and Coney Island-bound    local trains are running nonstop from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 36 St. This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

  trains, Manhattan

Uptown   trains aren't stopping at 14 St or 23 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown train.

   trains, Brooklyn

Coney Island-bound   and Church Av-bound   trains are running express from Smith-9 Sts to Church Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound   or Coney Island-bound  .

Long Island Rail Road service changes

Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma branches

Westbound trains aren't stopping at Elmont-UBS Arena, Queens Village, and Hollis from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday because of signal upgrades.

  • For service to/from Queens Village and Hollis, take MTA buses, which are accepting LIRR tickets for travel between Queens Village, Hollis, and Jamaica. View a map of your route options.
  • For service to/from Elmont-UBS Arena, use nearby Bellerose.

West Hempstead Branch

West Hempstead Branch trains aren't running between Valley Stream and West Hempstead in either direction from 5 a.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service between Valley Stream and West Hempstead, take shuttle buses, which are making all stops between these stations.
  • For service to/from St. Albans, take Babylon Branch trains, which are stopping at this station.
  • West Hempstead Branch trains are running between Grand Central and Valley Stream.
  • Use Schedules or TrainTime to plan your trip.
