MTA Weekender: April 11-14, 2025

There are service changes on the subway, LIRR, and Metro-North this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

Happy Friday and welcome to the second weekend in April! Today is National Pet Day. The MTA welcomes pets, but we have some simple rules you and your pet need to follow to keep everyone safe.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):

  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Crown Heights-Utica Av or New Lots Av.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green.
  •   trains aren't running between Hunts Point Av and 3 Av-138 St and are running in two sections.
  •   trains aren't running between 8 Av and 14 St-Union Sq.

Major subway service changes

   trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

  •   trains aren't running between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Crown Heights-Utica Av or New Lots Av in either direction.
    •   trains are running local between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall.
  •   trains aren't running between Grand Central-42 St and Bowling Green in either direction.
    •   trains are running every 12 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Av and Grand Central-42 St during the day and evening.

This is because of station work.

  • For service between Grand Central-42 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, take    trains.
  • For service to Fulton St, Wall St, and Bowling Green, use nearby   or   stations.
    • Broad St-bound   trains aren't stopping at Fulton St on Saturday morning and Jamaica Center-bound   trains aren't stopping at Fulton St on Sunday morning.
  • For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, take    trains.
  • For service between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Av, take the  , which is running to/from New Lots Av all weekend, including overnight.

  trains, the Bronx

  trains aren't running between Hunts Point Av and 3 Av-138 St in either direction from 9:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  •   trains are running in two sections:
    • Between Hunts Point Av and Pelham Bay Park, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
    • Between 3 Av-138 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.
  • For service between Hunts Point Av and 3 Av-138 St, take free shuttle buses, which are running between these stations making all   stops.
    • When exiting the subway at Hunts Point Av or 3 Av-138 St, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.

  trains, Manhattan

  trains aren't running between 8 Av and 14 St-Union Sq in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service between 8 Av, 6 Av, and 14 St-Union Sq, take free L92 shuttle buses or the M14.
    • When exiting the subway at these stations, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  •   trains are running between 14 St-Union Sq and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

Other subway service changes

  trains, the Bronx

From 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 12:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Sunday,   trains are running every 16 minutes between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St because of track replacement.

  • The last stop for alternate   trains from Manhattan is E 180 St. Transfer to a Wakefield-bound train to continue your trip.

  trains, the Bronx

Woodlawn-bound   trains aren't stopping at Bedford Park Blvd-Lehman College or Mosholu Pkwy from 5:45 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

  trains, Queens

Flushing-bound   trains are running express from 74 St-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Monday because of station work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

   trains, Brooklyn

Euclid Av-bound   and Queens-bound   local trains aren't stopping at Ralph Av and Rockaway Av from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound local train.

    trains, Brooklyn

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound   and Coney Island-bound    local trains are running nonstop from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 36 St. This is because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

  trains, Brooklyn

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, April 21,   trains are running express in both directions between Smith-9 Sts and Church Av because of signal modernization.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take the  .

  trains, Manhattan

Broad St-bound   trains aren't stopping at Fulton St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday because of station work.

  •  For service to/from this station, take a Jamaica Center-bound train.

Jamaica Center-bound   trains aren't stopping at Fulton St from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday because of station work.

  • For service to/from this station, take a Broad St-bound train.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

Babylon Branch

Babylon Branch trains are running on a reduced schedule from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Monday because of switch replacement.

  • Trains are running between Penn Station and Babylon. For service to/from Grand Central, transfer at Jamaica.
  • Many Montauk Branch trains are extended to/from Jamaica to provide additional service at Babylon.
  • Use Schedules or TrainTime to plan your trip.

West Hempstead Branch

West Hempstead Branch trains aren't running between Valley Stream and West Hempstead in either direction from 12 a.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Monday because of crossing rehabilitation.

  • For service between Valley Stream and West Hempstead, take shuttle buses.
  • For service to/from St. Albans, take Babylon Branch trains, which are stopping at this station.
  • West Hempstead Branch trains are running between Grand Central and Valley Stream.
  • Use Schedules or TrainTime to plan your trip.

Metro-North Railroad service changes

Harlem Line

Trains aren't running between Southeast and Wassaic from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.
