Public agencies and utility companies that are engaging in construction activities within 200 feet of MTA property should contact the EPP Public Agency and Utilities team.
The Public Agency and Utilities team works with a range of federal, state, and local agencies, as well as utility companies, to review and approve projects from simple utility connections to complex infrastructure projects—and oversee their implementation. EPP Public Agency will ensure that the project moves forward without harming the integrity of MTA's unique infrastructure.
Submitting applications for Public Agency projects
To apply for a project:
- Complete the archival request form and submit it to EPP to request archival as-built drawings for the area around your project.
- Check zoning requirements. Determine whether Zoning for Accessibility or other requirements apply to your project.
- Use the MTA provided archival/as-built drawings and follow the design guidelines when preparing the proposed engineering submission. Ensure EPP general notes and insurance requirements are included in the proposed engineering submission. Provide any related NYC Department of Buildings documentation and a clean copy of the archival/as-built drawings.
- Submit your application package via the EPP online platform.
After receiving a determination from EPP, refer to the EPP guidelines for further information on what your next steps are based on your determination.
