Transit Adjudication Bureau
Default Judgments
If after approximately 90 days the violation remains unresolved, the Transit Adjudication Bureau will enter a default judgment in New York City Civil Court. TAB will thereupon initiate all appropriate legal means to collect the amount of the judgment, which may include referral to collection agencies, referral to the New York City Sheriff, assignment to a New York City Marshall for possible wage garnishment, and imposition of a lien against future New York State income tax refunds.
