Responsibilities: This position is accountable for assisting the Assistant Chief Officer, manage and conduct investigations and/or studies of fraud, abuse, mismanagement, employee rights violations, violence in the workplace, concerning all NYC Transit operations, facilities and employees. Performs investigations/studies including but not limited to issues such as employee misconduct, workplace violence, revenue fraud, theft of service, etc. Prepares preliminary executive-level reports which recommend and direct the implementation of corrective action(s) to prevent fraud, abuse and mismanagement. Participates in joint investigations with law enforcement agencies, MTA agencies and outside government agencies. Directs the collection of required information and liaise with NYPD.
Exper. & Educ.: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in business administration, transportation, accounting or a related field, and at least eight (8) years of related experience of which three (3) years must have been in a managerial supervisory position.
Desired Skills: Demonstrate ability to work in a large, complex and diverse operating environment with multiple work locations and a heavily unionized employee population. Must have knowledge of auditing, investigative/surveillance techniques, penal code, NYCT operating and administrative policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
