Responsibilities: This position will provide executive oversight of Subways Signals Operations ensuring a safe, reliable and economical system. Develop short and long-term strategies necessary to improve system performance. Direct compliance with the required inspection, maintenance and repair of train control signals and signal control systems components including cabling and wiring. Plan, direct and coordinate the integration of Communication Based Signal Tech with existing train controls. Respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis and ensure proper evaluation of emergency situations and the appropriate response in the effort to restore signal system operations. Responsible for ensuring the recruitment, development and promotion of all personnel. Executive direction of Signals Contract Compliance Group.
Exper. & Educ.: 1. Baccalaureate degree in public administration or economics; and 2. 12 years of appropriate experience, at least 8 years of which must have been at the supervisory/managerial level; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
Desired Skills: Executive level project management skills. Extensive knowledge of Department of Subways policies, procedures and operations. Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
