Responsibilities: Receive training, assist and perform several of the following functions, in support of Materiel's Procurement sub-division: Collect and analyze data, write and evaluate reports pertaining to contracting and purchasing of goods and services, materials, capital and operating equipment. Prepare contracts, bids, work scopes, specifications and related documents; participate in negotiations; analyze bids and proposals. Guide customer departments in planning procurement activities, methods, justifications and schedules. Formulate bid submission requirements. Review vendor qualifications. Coordinates all internal approvals in accordance with statutory guidelines and NYCT Transit policy.
Exper. & Educ.: Associate Staff Analyst: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in one or more of the following: economics, business/ public administration, management science or a related field and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience. Staff Analyst I requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in the above listed areas and two years of full-time experience. Staff Analyst II requires three years of full-time experience. NOTE: All candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree in order to apply for this position.
Desired Skills: Knowledge/experience in purchasing, contracting, specification writing, inventory management/forecasting, fiscal, operations or industrial management. Analytical abilities. Quantitative, project and time management skills. Excellent written, verbal communication and computer skills. Candidate will be required to demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities: The position is responsible for making fair and accurate customer claims determinations by obtaining and analyzing the transaction data from various sources such as the Customer Information Database, the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system, DataMart's credit/debit transaction files, MVM receipts, and credit/debit statements. The position is also responsible for producing reports that help management identify MVM claim trends and assist in efforts to increase MVM system availability; resolving MVM claims in an accurate and timely manner; and aiding in the department's goal of curtailing incidents of MVM-related fraud. Will occasionally need to contact a customer during the course of a claim investigation.
