MTA Metro-North Railroad Offers Direct Service to the 2009 World Series

For games one and two, tonight and Thursday, MTA Metro-North Railroad will provide pre-game direct trains from the Harlem and New Haven Lines as well as additional game service on the Hudson Line. The games start at 7:57 p.m. with the Yankees playing the Phillies.

Shuttle service between Grand Central, Harlem-125th Street and the Yankees - E. 153rd Street station will operate every 10 to 15 during the peak travel periods before and after the games. During the game, trains will operate every 30 minutes.

All southbound Hudson Line trains between 5 p.m. and 2 a.m. will stop at Yankees-E. 153rd Street; this includes half-hourly service from Poughkeepsie and the Upper Hudson Line. Two extra express trains will operate out of Croton-Harmon, with 5:35 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. departures. The 5:35 p.m. will stop at Tarrytown before arriving at the stadium at 6:05 p.m.; the 6:30 p.m. will stop at Ossining, Tarrytown, and Yonkers, arriving at the stadium at 7:03 p.m. After the game, there will be two extra trains, one express to Croton-Harmon, then local to Poughkeepsie and another making all local stops to Croton-Harmon.

On the Harlem Line, there will be on extra train to the game departing Southeast at 6:10 p.m., making all stops to Mount Vernon West. After the game, there will be two direct trains, one express to White Plains, then local to Southeast and another making all local stops from Mount Vernon West to White Plains.

On the New Haven Line, there will be two pre-game direct trains to Yankees-E.153rd Street, departing New Haven at 4:18 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. The first train makes key stops to Stamford and then goes express to the stadium. The second train also will make stops at Greenwich, Rye and New Rochelle. After the game, there will be four extra trains, two making all stops from Stamford to New Haven, one making all local stops from Mount Vernon East to Stamford. The last train will make all local stops to New Haven.

If a game six or seven is needed they will be played next Wednesday and Thursday at the same times, and the same train schedule will be in effect.
