Big Jet ...Bigger Bridges!

Nov. 25, 2003—The recently retired Concorde makes its last journey by barge under MTA Bridges & Tunnels' Verrazano-Narrows Bridge (at right). The supersonic jet was en route to its new home at the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum on Manhattan’s West Side from its final landing at JFK Airport. On its journey it also passed under two other MTA Bridges & Tunnels' facilities -- the Cross Bay Bridge and Marine Parkway/Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge (below) in the Rockaways, before making its way under the Verrazano for the trip up the Hudson River.
