Boscobel House and Gardens The experience

At the end of the beautiful one-hour train ride along the Hudson lies Boscobel, an early 19th century mansion that features one of the nation's leading collections of furniture and decorative arts, plus expansive grounds with panoramic views of the river and the Hudson Highlands.

The first guided tour of the mansion begins at 10 a.m., and the last at 4 p.m.; tours take approximately 45 minutes. Or enjoy a leisurely self guided tour of the woodland trail, magnificent rose garden, orangerie, herb garden, and spring house. Don't miss the reception center's exhibition on Boscobel's dramatic 1950s rescue and restoration, and the charming museum shop.
