IMPORTANT: RAIL TICKETS ARE VALID FOR TRAVEL UP TO 14
DAYS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE.
As you can see, you have received
two tickets: a round-trip rail ticket (VALID FOR OFF-PEAK TRAVEL ONLY) and a
special event ticket marked “ESB SKYRIDE”. When you board your Metro-North train, give
the conductor your rail ticket. It will
be punched and given back to you. Make
sure to hold onto your rail ticket for your return trip home.
To
gain admittance to both venues, FIRST go to the NY SKYRIDE ticket window (located
at 350 Fifth Avenue,
at 34th Street,
on the 2nd floor of the Empire
State Building). Convenient access to the ticket window is
provided by the escalator on the 33rd
Street side of the building, next to the US Post
Office. When you get to the ticket
window, present your special event ticket that reads “ESB SKYRIDE”. You will then receive admission tickets for
both the NY SKYRIDE and the Empire State Building Observatory.
* Children must be at least 36 inches tall to ride the NY
SKYRIDE.

Take the Hudson,
Harlem or New Haven
Line to Grand Central Terminal. From
there take the following:
Subway: Take the downtown 6
train from Grand Central downtown to 33rd
Street. Walk
west on 33rd Street to Fifth Avenue to the
Empire State Building. Enter the side entrance by the US Post Office.
Bus: Take the southbound M2,
M3, M4, M5, or Q32 bus on Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street
to the 34th Street
stop. Turn right on 33rd Street, and proceed to
the second entrance of the building by the Post Office.
Walking: Exit Grand Central
Terminal on 42nd Street. Walk west
until you reach Fifth Avenue. Proceed south
on Fifth Avenue
(street numbers will be decreasing) until you reach 33rd Street. Turn right, and proceed to the second
entrance of the building by the Post Office.
