Take a ride on a vintage bus.
Monday to Friday, December 10 - 28*
Pay with MetroCard®. The cost to ride is $2.25, the same as any other local bus ride.

*Vintage service is subject to equipment availability and favorable weather. No rides on Christmas Day, December 25.

Vintage New York City Transit buses are operating in passenger service on the M42 crosstown bus route. Buses leave 42 St and 12 Ave at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. making all stops on 42 St.

With a little bit of luck and good timing you can catch a ride back in time on a classic coach for the price of a local bus ride. These 1950s/1960s era transit buses also accept MetroCard or coins for fare payment, just like any other bus.

In addition, vintage buses will be parked, and available for your viewing pleasure between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at: 6 Avenue and 35 Street, opposite Macy’s and 14 Street at Union Square.
