Elevator and Escalator Inspection Services

The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) leads a joint solicitation (Invitation For Bid) with MTA Headquarters and MTA Metro North Rail Road, to enter into an agreement for a Consultant to provide Scheduled annual (no load) inspections and witness five year (full load) safety code tests on 101 elevators and 45 escalators, per requirements of Section 1003, 1006, 1009 of ASME Al7.1, and ASME A17.2.1,  ASME A17.2.2,  and ASME Al 7.2.3 Inspection Checklist Specifications:  and Unscheduled services for additional or follow-up work as described within TSOW.  Each MTA Agency retains the right to award its own individual contract.  Contract terms shall be for three (3) years, with two (2)- one (1) year options.        

Eligible consultants must possess a proven record working with large organizations/agencies, with capabilities and experience in elevator and escalator inspection services, including: 1) ten (10) years minimum experience, with three (3) similar contracts in the last  5 years.    2) properly trained Inspectors and Supervisors, directly employed and supervised by the Contractor, with ASME  QEI-1 certification.   Certification and experience documentation must be submitted to LIRR with bid.  3) bid responsiveness, and  4) Cost. 

Please be advised LIRR will hold a Pre-Bid Conference Meeting on November 17, 2009, 1:30--3:30 PM at Penn Station to discuss details. The Long Island Rail road may consider informal any submission not prepared in accordance with provisions therein, and reserves the right to waive any and all informalities or to reject any and all submissions.
