Strawberry
Festival
During
your day at the Mattituck Strawberry Festival, you'll have the opportunity
to sample the fruit in all of its varieties-as shortcake, pie, and covered
with chocolate. The Festival is an old-fashioned country fair in rural
Long Island, complete with carnival rides, games of chance, music, arts
and crafts.
More than 80 vendors will tempt you with items ranging from pictures and poems on metal to homemade jams and jellies to handmade clothing. Many of the Festival rides and games are strawberry-themed. The day's highlight is a SUPER-SIZED serving of strawberry shortcake or 3 chocolate covered strawberries on us.
To put you in the strawberry mode, on the way to the Festival we'll stop at Anderson Farms, where you can pick your own strawberries or purchase other fresh berries. Please note that in the event of inclement weather or a poor strawberry-growing season, we will proceed directly to the Festival.
