Construction & Development

MTA Construction & Development plans, develops, and executes critical infrastructure investments that help ensure reliable, accessible, and sustainable transit for the region.

Capital planning at the MTA

Once every five years, Construction & Development prepares a strategic Capital Plan outlining the capital investments the MTA proposes to initiate over the next five-year period. The agency is focused on delivering capital construction project better, faster, cheaper and has saved over $3 billion in project costs since its founding in 2020.

2025-2029 MTA Capital Plan

The $68.4 billion 2025-2029 Capital Plan is the most transformative investment in state of good repair in the history of the MTA and is informed by the MTA’s 20-Year Needs Assessment released in 2023.
