The Fulton Center project is being undertaken through separate construction contracts. Work on the first three contracts has been completed. This includes work on Contract 1, station rehabilitation and new southern entrances to the station platforms, completed in November 2006 and August 2007, respectively. Work on Contract 2, excavation and construction of the Dey Street Concourse structural box, and deconstruction of 189 Broadway to provide space for a new station entrance, was completed in November 2008. Contract 3, deconstruction of certain buildings east of Broadway, was completed in September 2007.
Current active contracts include:
• The Transit Center foundations contract, which started construction in December 2008 and is expected to be completed in August 2010.
• The Cortlandt Street Station rehabilitation of the northbound platform, with work ongoing since February 2009 that is expected to be completed in November 2009.
• The mezzanine reconstruction and vertical circulation contract, awarded July 2009 with expected completion in December 2012.
• The Station rehabilitation & Dey Street Headhouse construction contract, awarded August 2009 and expected completion in March 2012.
