SUMMARY: The Manager, Material Requirements and Planning will manage inventory/non-inventory purchases/ procurements and direct complete range of inventory planning, control functions and staff to ensure timely, effective and cost-efficient acquisitions in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations and best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage inventory control and planning functions to ensure compliance with all applicable procedures and best practices.
- Control inventory levels and costs.
- Identify and implement approved procedural changes to increase efficiency and/or quality of operations. Develop systems and controls to assure inventory objectives are met.
- Coordinate with operating departments to forecast usage/needs and resolve problems.
- Coordinate with finance/budget to assure parts purchases are within budget constraints.
- Oversee handling/disposal of obsolete and surplus inventory to procedure.
- Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of required reports including monthly and quarterly inventory reports. Review daily and weekly inventory reports directing follow-up action as necessary.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of material control procedures and best practices.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local procurement regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and supervisory skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or comparable applications.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 years of experience in procurement and contracting, including 3 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field; or
- Satisfactory equivalent of education and successful experience.
