Job Description:
The position will support MTA B&T’s strategic development by working with agency departments to help implement key initiatives such as enhancing the E-ZPass toll collection system.  Responsibilities include researching internal and external business processes to determine industry best practices; performing a wide range of analyses to support recommended action plans, including process reviews, statistical and financial modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and risk analyses; reporting findings and recommending action plans; preparing and participating in the presentation of findings; supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives; developing output measures and other tools to improve ongoing process management; and performing other project-oriented work.

Qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2 years experience doing similar work. A Master’s Degree in related discipline may be used to substitute up to 2 years of work experience.

*Demonstrated ability to perform project related work resulting in improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness
*Strong analytical ability based on both quantitative skills and sound judgment
*Proficient computer expertise in a broad range of computer applications
*Excellent written and oral communication skills: writing and presentation samples required
*Demonstrated ability to gather and interpret data from a wide range of sources and establish effective performance metrics
*Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to successfully foster teamwork and perform negotiations
*Knowledge of business process review and cost analysis techniques
*Transportation industry experience is preferred but not required
