Job Description:
The Computer Associate will primarily be responsible for directly supporting and maintaining IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux, EMC SAN Storage Area Network, Veritas NetBackup, Coldfusion web application server, Oracle web Application Server and f5 hardware based load balancers. The computer associate will also be responsible for disaster recovery; data storage protection; for automating daily system administration tasks; assist in the implementation of new services and features, and support existing infrastructure.
Specialized Knowledge Preferred:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and resources simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively assess problems and respond accordingly.
- Must be detail oriented and have good planning and organizational skills.
- Extensive Knowledge and work experience with AIX, Red Hat Linux, EMC SAN Storage Area Network, Veritas NetBackup, Coldfusion web application server, Oracle web Application Server, f5 hardware load balancers, Oracle Database and TCP/IP networking.
- Coldfusion, Perl, php, C/C++, or shell scripts experience4 years of professional active systems security experience OR an Associates degree in Computer Science or its equivalent plus, a minimum of 8 years of professional level experience as described above.
- Must be able to work outside of normal working hours as needed for support and maintenance.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- A certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and two years of satisfactory full-time experience, acquired within the last eight years, working on large-scale mainframe computer operations or mainframe data communication networks; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time experience, acquired within the last eight years, as described in "1" above; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience, acquired within the last eight years, as described in "1" above; or
- A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience, acquired within the last eight years, as described in "1" above.
